Alerts of a Zoom outage started round 8am PDT / 12pm EDT / 3pm BST, with a big spike in experiences seen on monitoring web site DownDetector.

Zoom was fast to reply, tweeting on its principal Twitter account (opens in new tab) that it was conscious of the problems, and that its engineering staff “is investigating the matter.”

Zoom now says it thinks it might have gotten to the underside of the issue.

A meesage on its standing web page (opens in new tab) notes, “We now have recognized the problem beginning and becoming a member of conferences. We are going to proceed to research and supply updates as we get them.”
